SUPERCUP MASSI BANYOLES UCI HC

The Banyoles UCI HORS CLASS, the Notre Dame of Mountain Biking as they call it. Now in its 20th year, it is Spain’s most demanding trial. Racers from all around the world come to put themselves to the test in what they call the World Cup #0, as it always kicks off the season of the world’s toughest races.

The spectacular scenery in this part of the province of Girona, the many enthusiasts of the sport and the nature of the circuit draw more than 20,000 people to watch the race every year. The atmosphere is amazing, you can feel the concentration of the cyclists, the spectators’ excitement and warmth … Sensations and emotions that electrify the air, shouts of support that inspire the racers to give their utmost. This is the third year that the women’s race is held on Saturday, following the format that has become habitual in World Cup events.

I’ve heard a lot about this race. I’ve been wanting to include it in my competition calendar for some years now. After the World Cup races, I think that it is the toughest cross-country race you can find anywhere in the world.

– HENRIQUE AVANCINI. Number 2 in the World UCI Ranking and World XCM Champion.

This year, the race has been streamed live, reaching over 100,000 live viewers.
