BUFF® EPIC TRAIL
“La Buff” as it is popularly known, is a mythical race within the world skyrunning circuit. Against a stunning backdrop, this race runs along the edge of the Aigüestortes National Park. Held for the first time in 2014, it has grown year after year since then.
The marathon is run by the best of the world’s skyrunners.
Since 2017, the BUFF® Epic Trail is part of the BUFF® Mountain Festival, which offers a wealth of activities for the whole family: adventure sports, mountain bike competitions, children’s workshops, concerts and lots more. All in the same location, Barruera, in the Valley of Boí. It’s not all about running!
The Buff® Epic Trail is a very important race. This year, it is one of the few Supersky Races and it earns double points. All of the top runners are here and all of them want to compete in peak condition.

The BUFF® Mountain Festival receives a lot of media attention. The large number of people who come to the festival – about 17,000 last year – and the high athletic level of the races attract national and international communication media alike. This 25-minute TV highlights has gone to all corners of the globe, shown by TV channels in more than 30 countries.
So famous has it become that television companies show several excerpts within their prime time news programmes. This festival for mountain enthusiasts has managed to create a magical atmosphere. And today, it has become a cannot-be-missed event for everyone who enjoys sport and nature.
